I present you a project witch is pretty though. Against to other project the self construction display will be publishing as open source project. This display can simply put at the 15pol. connector and all the connections of the MCU/LittleFoot will be grinding through! At this project I take care much for easy to build + low prise (appr. ~45,-EUR for all parts incl. PCB) above all. There’re no SMD parts. The following building guidance based on the published plans. The PCB layout and the software are open source so there are no construction kits available at this project. Shurely the parts order can be managing in the Supportforum. All informations are in the display forum area. This is just the building guidance how I imagine it should be done. I don’t want to torment you with a green 2 line display! There is a red background lighting 3 line display from the Electronic Assembly company. Why there’re two fire wire connectors you could find out in the project area also. Lawfull Information first: Enough from lawfull information and back to building guidance: First of all there’re some preparations needed. The pin strips are put on the diplaymodul and the MCU.
After it you’ve to cut 2 pins of the display pin strip. If they stack in the PCB you shouldn’t see them come out at the back!
If this preparations finished you can heat your soldering iron and start. At first you should solder the pin strips. Be carefull at the pins you’ve cut before. Use just a little bit of tin solder there.
In the next Stepp the display modul pull of again – be carefull with it!! After that you can solder the background lighting on the display. The soldering pads should be soldered from the TOP! Attention! , Attention! At the back of the LCD Modules are protective plastic films! It should be removed before soldering. IT’S NOT POSSIBLE AFTER IT!! The protective plastic film on the top stays there until the end.
If all is OK the pin srip of the MCU is soldering on the other side. The MCU is also pull off again.
In the next Step we are creating a isolation for the quartz. A small piece of paper is enough and you can solder the quartz to the PCB.
If this is done you can place the other parts. A special order is not recommend jet.
If this is also finished the display and the MCU could put back again.
Now there is the work on the case left. There is no precondition on how you work with this case. You can go your own way. For this case there is a drilling template available. Just print it out put it in the case and draw the cutting. With the template it’s easy to cut out the top of the case.
It is easy to work at lower surface when you put the electronic in and draw the connectors.
At the 15pol. connector I’ve to grind off a little bit of the upper path before all fits with the case. Here’re some impressions of the finished display.
And a lot of fun during the reproduction. Too good lastly still the sayings, without which it unfortunately sometimes comes in our constitutional state to misunderstandings: The structural drawings veroeffenlichten by me, plates etc. are freely reproductionable for private users. A commercial marketing of devices to these structural drawings to attribute are, is permitted only with expressly written permission. Reproduction and application to own danger. For function and/or for possible damage, which due to reproductions, which from me publish structural drawings, plates etc. result in, I do not take over myself any responsibility! That sounds itself badly, is however half so wild (with me everything functions perfectly). I have only no desire me for a damage to answer for, only because someone has from such things no notion, a Akku short circuit and the hut or other absengelt. PLEASE CLICK TO VISIT THE SITE |
